Feed it more, @1yr should be bigger. (childhood fever dream was to be a herpetologist, AMA) Kept tons of herps over the years. Allys are one of my favorites from around here and desert iguanas are the best. Like puppy dogs.
I feed her until she stops eating. I'm getting a 20L here soon so I can "lengthen" her habitat.

Other than that though, she's super healthy. You can tell by the "fat", eyes, her overall movements, etc.

I do agree about length, which is why I'm getting ready to get a bigger tank.

I have a 40R acrylic, but too easy for insects and what not to crawl up the sides of an acrylic.

I want "height" for the tank too actually so I can put taller setups. They like climbing too. I just need to go do some shopping to see the best setup.

allys are bottomless pits for crickets and meal worms (in moderation). a basic supplement should get dusted on to help with being in captivity. rep-cal was always reliable.

Dusting is there. I feed her pretty good. I just need a bigger tank than the 10gal. I should be buying a tank here soon. I was at Petsmart just yesterday.

We had one as kids, but it was already a "juvenile". I never had a "hatchling" is basically what she was when I had caught her. I'm walking out to my truck and I happen to catch her out of the corner of my eye JUST AS she went underneath my front driver side tire. I would have definitely crushed the knuckle-head if I had not seen her.

I thought it was a typical "blue belly" at first because Alligator Lizards are typically ninja status and unless you are REALLY looking for them, they typically hide pretty good from the public.

Btw, she lets me pick her up very easily and typically just chills on me.

The one we had as kids we would let it free-roam the house and he always ended up sleeping under my brother's pillow? Never once ran away and it had so many chances to do so.

Yep. Some species condition better to humans than others. Wild alligator lizards as adults are assholes. Raise them from early on, its a different story. My wild caught desert iguanas loved attention and FOOD. Knew the difference between me (food) and others who would be in my room. Would not even budge but if they saw me come in, they would park in front of the glass to see if I was going towards the cricket box.

HAHAHAHA, yeah, right now the tank is pretty much right next to my desk and where I sit. She GAZES at me most of the time if she's not out of the tank?:rofl::rofl:

When I feed her as soon as I lift the lid she starts running over to where my hand is, holding the what I call my "dusting container", because she knows it's time to eat.

The rice is pretty good while camping too, but those quesadillas are bomb!
And the quesadillas are super easy too.
Thanks but I’m a bit picky about rice. Did a tiny bit of research and it’s saying how above 5000’ I should be using a lot more water and more time

which is what I’ve been doing. Now it’s confirmed
