Hermetically sealed systems will never need a recharge
A leak would be the only cause for low refrigerant which should be addressed as it can lead to contaminants that will kill the compressor.
yep, leaks happen. the fridge side is being lame right now.

When we moved in, someone before us tried cleaning it and managed to flatten most of the fins over, blocking air flow.

Spent hours with a wooden shim and a mirror fixing it. That fridge has seen some shit. There's patched holes where a lock was installed on the pantry and some of the cabinets...out of control teenager? Dementia? Anyways...

The compressors have been replaced and there's a lot of "old people, sell them everything and do nothing" work evidence all over the place. Alarm system has break sensors on the screens... never been hooked up. Some had bundles of wires left in the attic. Sad. So I'm not entirely confident any of the work done was the best.

that will happen if the door isn’t detecting it’s shut.
open one door and use a magnet and move it around the front of the upper hinge cover.
see if the light goes on or off.
Do that for the other door as well.
Found the spot on both upper hinges with a magnet and was able to control the lights. With out the magnet and door open the chime takes a while to chime is very faint and will chime twice then after awhile chime again three times. At times I can hear the fan run but it is very faint. Now with both doors closed chime will chime randomly again. Tech was sick today so appointment got rescheduled to Sat. I did pick up an older (96') fridge for the garage (had one in the past but it died so we chose not to have a garage fridge) but fridge is only getting down to 50 degrees/freezer gets to 0 degrees. So fridge items are back in cooler with ice.

Of the LG purchased in 2016 is LMXS30776S serial number 603KRLR06168.

pull out the bottom crisper drawer.
see if you see any ice or frost on that back wall.
those have a software issue that prevents them from defrosting correctly.
you probably got ice formed on the evap and it’s either stopped the fan or is restricting airflow. If you got enough room in that other fridge, unplug the LG, prop the doors open and let it defrost for 24 hours

Appreciate the feedback. There was no sign of frost but maybe it already melted when I noticed things were getting warm. Everything was pulled out as soon as I noticed. Ran to the store bought ten bags of ice and used 4 of the coolers I have. Bought the old used fridge the next day and do have concerns with it as well (fridge is only getting down to 50 but freezer is down to 0) I will see if the service tech can possibly give it a look as well if they show Saturday. Am starting to think that the LG may be a software/computer issue. Thinking back the random chimes were happening prior to noticing the failure to stay cool.

well if you have everything in the other fridge, fully defrost overnight and see what happens in the morning.

definitely not a compressor issue if the freezer is able to stay at zero. What are you using to measure temp?

the chime is pretty random as there aren’t any audible alarms other than the door chime.
unless the ice in the door melted and dripped onto the chill drawer control panel.

The older fridge that I just bought is the one that the freezer gets too 0 and fridge to 50. I used an inferred thermometer and then I bought a cheap dial style meat thermometer and left in both freezer and fridge for a few hours each side. Both thermometers read the same. Perhaps the fridge side is struggling do to the garage being 90-95 degrees. I am in the desert.

The LG never frosted up. It just stopped cooling, very much like the first time the compressor was replace. The first time I just don't remember the chime freaking out.
That you can see... there's panels with lines running all over. They can create ice dams and cause the fridge to not turn on because it thinks it's still cold.

I don't have an LG, but my fridge I had to change out the flap assembly that lets the air bleed over from the freezer to the fridge. My fridge was getting hot, but the freezer was fine.

This happened to ours.
I called Sears. They fixed it for 2 times $50 a time. Went with there maintenance chinga @$50 a month. They will come and repair anything for only the cost of parts now.
A compressor and welding pipes shut under the fridge and 3 trips for $50 is a pretty good deal I thought.

A few months ago I picked up a used truck. Made a few changes to the suspension thanks to @4runner DOA & @Itaro . I’m sure you guys know them. Added a few mods to the truck and we took the maiden voyage today.

First time on dirt for the Nuggg. From stoddard wells to SlashX cafe. The Nuggg did great. We took whoops, went up & down hills. We had so much fun. We ate lunch at SlashX and drove home.
Can’t wait for the next trip.
