I once was one of those idiots that thought plugging in HID bulbs was cool. It was before TW, so once I joined and saw all the crap on it, I went right back to stock haha
Same here .. I liked them because of the light output but they were fucking with other drivers so the went bye bye

It's official. My wife is now the proud owner of a 2009 4Runner SR5. Galactic gray in color with 187000 on the clock. I've been forbidden to even think about modding it but damn the 4th Gens are nice rides.

What if you need a recovery vehicle. That 4th gen can handle it perfectly!

Thanks. It's the 4.0 V6. We had it narrowed down to the Lexus GX470 or the 4th gen. My wife wanted the gas mileage of the V6 over the luxury of the GX. So we ended up with the 4th gen.

In stock form that V6 has plenty of power. It's faster then my rig's 3.4 with 5.29's and 35's. lol

I already ran it up my local test hill. It made it up 1/3 of the way before the ruts got too wide and deep for 265/65/17. It didn't get stuck but I just backed down before it did. It is her rig and getting it stuck within 3 hours of owning it would be bad. My rig laughs at that hill in lo/lo.

How long does it take your 4wd to engage?

That's why it needs mods, so you can rescue yourself.

Depends. Usually fairly quick. I typically just kick it to 4hi as soon as I hit dirt and let it kick in while we're driving. Then center diff as needed.

LMAO. That is exactly how I started to build our(now mine) 97. She's a smart women and there is no way in hell she is falling for that trick again.

She is considering lifting it but it won't be for a while and if she does it will be a smaller lift. Just enough to fit the 295/70/17's I have sitting on the side of the house. lol

5100s with 884s for the front and 2" metal tech in the rear with icon 2.0 no resi. Budget lift and it will ride pretty decent. I was running 5100s/885s before my icons and it was a good mix but I also had dual batteries, skids, and sliders.

Hey I was just talking with a buddy at work and he told me that in Cali there bia a new exhaust law that is aimed at stopping street racing. Any non stick exhaust gets a 1k fine and the car has to be inspected with a stock exhausted installed by a state representative? Please tell me that shit ain't real.

Solo Motorsports posted something yesterday on this. I guess it’s no longer a fix it ticket. It’s a straight fine. Not sure of the cost yet.

I'm okay with it. Some people get retarded with their aftermarket exhausts. Too many ricer wannabees (just like the off road wannabees) with loud exhausts, tow points, and stereo systems that add 100 lbs of weight running around. The guys that actually race are towing to the tracks anyway. Doesn't affect them.
