I'm going to install an oil pressure gauge pod on my a-pillar hopefully very soon among many other things I want to install.

I want to get this Stewart Warner oil pressure gauge and it's associated electric sending unit. I don't want "mechanical". I'm looking to get this gauge because it has really good "resolution" for the dial tick marks. Tacoma's have idle oil pressure readings right around 5psi and at around 3k rpm it is roughly 30psi-70psi doing my research.

The other pod gauge is eventually going to be my tranny temp gauge. I've already installed the inline and tested it and it works pretty good, but the gauge is just not mounted yet.

Anyone used the magnet style pod holders?
I don't want my shit to rust and it will where I am, so I was going to go removable. Only put on the truck for the dirt.
Didn’t even know they made magnetic holders for pods. I would assume that they could easily fall off when getting rowdy offroad. Plus the magnet would scratch up the paint of whatever you attach it too

I wonder if you could get a quick disconnect, maybe something similar to ones for radio antennas

I’m going to be doing one project or another. Lots of aluminum chips flying around :anon:
Plastic, metal, and electrical work for me are my many projects going on right now.

How my gauges are going to get mounted on my a-pillar. I still need to buy the oil pressure gauge from Summit. This is a "universal pod mount" and it fits the a-pillar molding pretty good. I got lucky there seems to be very little "custom molding" that needs to be done. THANK GOD!!! :hail:

Also, is there a reliable way to "fix" a small rock hit in my windshield? I just noticed the small chip/crack now as I was positioning my gauge pod. Don't they sell an epoxy type glue to fix these things? Where can I buy the glue if they do? Is it easy to do it yourself?

The only way to do it is to drill out the pinpoints so that the cracks don't keep going we have a guy that works for a glass company that did my windshield on the Tacoma saved my windshield.

I forget the technical term but you can buy window filler. Any auto store should sell it, and it’s simple to do yourself

Our vendor uses a little tool to get the debree out then fill the crack

Sounds like I should have someone that knows how to do it correctly and has the right tools to do it correctly?

I'll look into it then. I just want it done right. Not looking for a half-ass job like what I just went through with my engine.

Thank you for the inputs my peeps.

The sad thing is that "I" took my truck to a supposedly very reputable place because I was mainly trying to stay away from half-ass workmanship and that is exactly what I got after the dust settled, half-ass workmanship.

In my experiences now, even if the shop is supposedly a reputable place and expensive, doesn't mean shit these days.

So far, my truck engine is running very well and I ended up taking it to a small shop and so far, their work is proving to be very good even though even I was concerned about things but I didn't have much of a choice on the matter as "beggars can't be choosers".

Anyways... DO NOT TRUST "Gustafson's Automotive" here in Huntington Beach, CA!!!

You go there, you go at your own risk and don't ever say I didn't warn you.

You go there and look at the place and you're awestruck by how fancy it all looks and what not. Very "professional looking".

rant over, but I beg you to heed my warnings

Anyone know of a free dirt pile? I'm looking to level the backyard out some and let the grass grow through it. My mom's friend that did it originally was dying when he did the side and sprinklers and it was never leveled out originally
