I just found out I had most of my power tools and hand tools stolen out of the garage last night along with a few other items. Over $1k worth of stuff for sure. I hate thieves

No (renter’s) insurance unfortunately but at least they didn’t take the welder. It’s going to suck replacing all my ratchets, sockets and power tools. After taking a closer look at current prices for tools, I’m probably closer to $2k. I’ll be shopping for some 3/8” socket sets first since I can’t do shit without those, and then for the power tools it’s time to decide if I want to stick with Makita or change brands since it’s a clean slate. My batteries, charger, impact sockets, everything is gone
So sorry to hear of this brother. My truck got broken into multiple times while living in Santa Ana.

If executions were legal, I wouldn't have a problem putting a nice healthy round through the thief's head, but that's just me. Don't wanna die, don't go stealing my stuff. Simple as that really.

But yeah, totally feel your pain man.

My hand tools were mostly Craftsman (some USA and some Chinesium) so the quality was somewhat budget but not bottom of the barrel. I’m not opposed to Icon or Tekton, I just don’t want Pittsburgh for rachets. I also prefer 6 point and stay away from 12pt at all costs. I’ve got some shopping to do and will start with the hand tools for sure.

I’d like a 3/8” set with a big assortment of deep and short sockets, and a reasonable sized 1/4” drive set would have at least 10 sizes of each since I don’t use 1/4” too often but when you need one, you need one.
This is the set I picked up

How’s the quality on the ratchet? It has a 90 tooth for the 3/8” and 1/4” kits, so they should be pretty smooth.
I had low expectations of the ratchet, I was in it for the sockets, but I've been happily surprised with all of it. Wobble extensions would have been nice but it's all good.

Plus, for $88 it was a no brainier, I just waited for a "used" set and got open box brand new

I need to upgrade my steering pump. I'm still too lazy to weld on any upgrades. Rather drive it and complain about it the next day.

Are there local stores that carry this fitting? Just want to buy one way home and finish.

Check with equipment service shops. A lot of them have hose fitting presses and can make it for you. In AZ we have several stores called Hose Power. They make specialty hydraulic hoses and fittings.

Do the 2 pieces thread together when it’s not attached to the hose??
