I've got the book. It's some good info. The trail ratings aren't that accurate, but you can always check around the interwebs for recent trail runs. Like, I would rate dishpan harder than Holcomb. Gold mountain now has a gatekeeper and is rutted out like fuck. A lot of the desert trails have likely changed due to the monsoons and the upcoming hurricane weather we're looking at. But it's a good starting point.

I like the idea of a gatekeeper. Always wondered if it just worked out that there was such an obstacle or the route was chosen on purpose.

The trick is to find an aluminum radiator that isn’t a Champion that’s the rights dimensions and has the inlet and outlet in the correct spot. The Champions are known to have a short service life before cracking. Like <1 yr. There’s a few threads floating around with this reoccurring issue.
