Same shit different day and busier than fucking ever with work. Got a new title, getting new responsibilities, and 2023 is going to be wild for work.
More pay or nah?

The only promotions that matter are the ones that come with more pay

Unfortunately naw. The title just aligns better to the type of work I've been doing, which will look better on the resume if I need it in the near future. The new responsibilities go hand in hand with getting more acclimated to corporate data and software to help out with a huge upcoming project that in the end will be my baby. That, should lead to an increase if all goes well.

That's awesome, though. We're spinning off from Big Corporate first of the year. That will be a wild ride, too.

The company I started working for was absorbed by a larger company and we were considered regional since we had different systems. To a degree we'll continue to have different systems but they're finally closing in on one overall ERP to handle everything. Once that goes live, we'll be integrating a new software solution to track data company wide which is where I'll be coming in. Pretty excited, super nervous. I've never run a project this big before. In the end I'm supposed to be the content expert for this piece of software.

You run this place with these fine outstanding gentlemen and ladies, so that shouldn't be to hard to manage. :peep:

ERP is the 300-headed monster. You doing ETL then off of the ERP data? When I worked for Rayovac, they had a whole team of slice-and-dice engineers to make sales and manufacturing look good.

Yeah our data is a cluster fuck across the nation and they've pretty much put band aids on all the important stuff here too. We'll still have multiple ERP systems in use, but the new one will be the main hub and push down instead all the multiples pushing up. From there we're creating data catalogue along with a meta data management system to keep shit in order. That's where I come in. Eventually all states will be on the same system but that's still 3-5 years out.

That's at least 3-5 years of job security ;)

Longshot, but does anyone know someone that does guitar lessons on a flexible schedule in the north orange county area? Wanna get this kid more into playing the one I bought him last year. Only problem is week days are slammed with homework, and weekends have to be every other so I need something flexible.
