A couple years ago when I was looking for things out of scrap yards it seemed like it was hard, or I was just using poor websites. I got a website from @Hank that has a good search function and a large pool to look through and it is way easier.... also it looks like the earlier year stuff from around 2005 and up is starting to end up in junk yards, a lot of it is high mileage stuff but there's some low mileage stuff scattered around. There are actually a bunch of fj cases available out of scrap yards in socal, just takes a little looking around to find one that isn't too expensive and high mileage.$70 a piece for those little fuckers? Fuck. Sounds like we need to invest in a lathe and learn to machine our own parts. (Something I've always wanted to learn anyways)
Sucks about the FJ Case being a manual case. Cool you found the right one though. I still wonder why manufacturers make transmissions/t-cases different tail-housing mounting patterns. I'm sure there is a logical reason, but it just seems odd to have different cases for different transmissions, when you could just have the same tail-housing, and same t-cases across the board.
