that motor isn’t going to die
We had an 02 Lancer 2.4 with almost 400k on it and it was treated like absolute shit
oh yea thats been made clear to me haha. when i bought it, it had been sitting for a year, got it running, took it in to get some work done, found out 6 months later they didnt change the oil lol. then my wife came in the garage a little hot and damaged the drain plug in the pan, leaked about a quart or 4 from our house to work and back. drove it to a new shop to get that fixed and they were all suprised it was still running, said there was barely anything in there. i figured if driving around with gelled oil for 6 months and then a day or two with almost no oil didnt kill it....theres no hope in getting this motor to die on its own...it might take motivation.

Wow I’ve never seen that before. Looks cool
they only made them for i think one and a half model years (2004-05.5) yea ive only seen i think 3 besides ours, 1 was flawless and the other 2 were more rallied than ours. definitely an interesting car lol. biggest 4cyl Mits had available for the lancer with the shittiest trans (auto 4sp) dunno why they didnt put a auto/manual 5spd in...shift cruises at like 3800 rpms and gets 21 mpg. horrible for a 4 banger.

3rd gen is eclipse had a 4g64 mated with a 5spd but it wasn’t great
Synchros were kind of shit and would fail after 50k miles.
