So how do I run my rig, a 97 4Runner with the 5vz-fe, on hydrogen? Your either ignoring or missing my point. The world is still currently dependent on oil. ANWR is huge and has 10B gallons. We should have already drilled it.

As far as your point about the Native Alaskans protesting ANWR drilling goes. Look up the Alaskan Native Claims Settlement Act. The indigenous peoples of AK have made billions off of oil and continue to do so. The 250 person village of Kaktovik is the only village that will be directly affected by ANWR. A lot of those 250 are actually for drilling ANWR because it will bring them income.

BTW, I've actually been to ANWR and understand the true scale and size of what I'm talking about. I'm talking about oil just so you don't get confused again.

Well you can do conversions. You know that's possible right? Not exactly entering into new territory here.

Yes the world currently still depends on oil and how do you think that's going to be solved? I can tell you it's not solved by simply drilling for more oil that you know where it is. Nor does that solve any of the pollution issues that are caused by burning fuel fossils. Do you think adding lead back into gasoline to increase fuel economy would be a good idea? Of course not lead is fucking toxic.

Anyways an easier solution to reduce some of the dependency on oil for your car would simply retro to an E85 solution. More power and lower emissions, kind of a win/win. CARB / ARB and all the nonsense tied into that makes it an impossible task from a legal stand point though. Coupled with the fact now that we are growing a lot of corn and other crops simply to burn them is not an ideal situation. So you'll need to figure out how to offset that and by far one of the better options is a "spooky government" mandate that'll force auto makers into more electric and alternative fuel vehicles.

Some of you seem confused by all this. I'm not condemning anyone for their own personal choice of a vehicle or how far they commute I'm simply stating that people should be thinking about their choices when it comes down to the environment. Hell i'm really confused how people got upset about someone shitting on the president for taking away public land.
