Looking for function over form, but I like the idea of saving some weight with E rated meats, and I kinda like the plain Jane look.

Are these more susceptible to damage (bending/getting trashed) when aired down than factory aluminum?

Steelies are heavier, and yes they bend easier than alloy. My SCS are lighter than the fj steelies I was running prior and I bent one Steelie to the point of no return, bent the lip on two others but they were still good to mount tires on. My SCS have been used and abused and I don't have a single dent or crack in any of my wheels..

Steelies with rock rings have treated me well. And it's easy to. Clean up scratches with a rattle can.

Stock aluminum wheels are great and cheap. If you bend or crack one, they are usually easily replaceable. Stock wheels are lighter than steel, less likely to bend (they'll still bend if you hit them hard enough), and narrow width means you can air down more without losing a bead.
