Dude?! How the fuck are you constantly blowing out tires? It’s obviously user error at this point :flipoff:

I legit wasn't paying attention. I saw the rock, thought yeah I need to go passenger, then just slammed into it and sliced my sidewall open.

Bro, you have no idea. You couldn't have tried to hit that rock in any worse position than @4runner DOA did. I'm pretty sure he was trying to sabotage the trip. lol

Let's not talk about what you thought was wrong 100 yards from camp. :deadbanana:

20 psi is fine, it’s the driver that’s the problem.
I guess if you like rattling the fillings our of your teeth. :noidea: but yeah, considering his history, the driver probably has a lot to do with it.

The other week when I took a coworker up on gold mountain he asked about airing down and said he was going to 20. I laughed and told him you can go to 10 or 11 and not loose a bead on everything but the most technical lines.

Considering race trucks are running well over 20psi without issues, it’s absolutely driver error now.
I usually air down to 14 for non technical trails with higher speeds, but 8-11 depending on the crawling trail.

There's nothing sharp on that rock at all. Air down more. 20 psi isn't aired down despite what the overlanders think.

I just wasn't paying attention and I nailed it at like 10 mph. Maybe less. Probably pinched the sidewall against the lip of the wheel and it immediately blew.

I was at 18 psi. Was totally driver error. I did however manage to get through 3 snow sections (in and out) without any issues after the fact. Hah.

Still snow on the side of the road? Let me assume every asshole pulled off on the side of the road?

Tons of snow at 9-10k feet. The 25% grades going up and down in a 6k lb steel fucking anchor is what killed me. Throw in a bunch of hairpin turns and my stress level was through the roof for 80 miles.

I don't even know if a sway bar would have helped. I'll be pulling a tire later when it cools down to see if I need to change my front pads in the AutoZone parking lot before I leave Sonora.

LOL. I forgot to tell you Sonora is a steep bastard. It makes Tioga look mellow. First time I went over was in my old 88 Toyo van. I made it over the pass no issue but about 2 miles into the downhill I had serious brake fade. It's the first, and only, time I've had to get out and piss on my brakes.

Apparently they were doing guided tours over Tioga at specific times, but we weren't there in time for the first run and I didn't want to wait until 4 for the next one.
