So this happened recently. Now have a locked '02 after months of forum inactivity. Heading out for further testing this weekend. Got a good deal on a complete rear axle, front diff, locker ecu, full harness and factory switch. All out of a lower mile, dealer maintained 2000. (Thanks Trevor). Swap was pretty straightforward once you nail down the wiring. Super stoked.

Rear locker alone makes a ton of difference, I think you'll be happy with it for awhile. Dual lockers are fun as fuck on loose uphill stuff though, it's like hitting the easy button. Start saving now, you'll want one eventually.

Nice. Doing the same except I wanted to keep the stock look. Building a sleeper. 300 watts RMS to the sub and 100 watts RMS to each door speaker. View attachment 17865View attachment 17866
Hell yeah. That'll be a nice setup for sure. Nothing really out there custom for the third gen except for the jl stealth box. Which still takes up too much room in my opinion and are hard to come across. Not to mention insanely expensive. Built my whole set up for about $80 in material and a few braincells from the fumes (did wear a good respirator). My door speakers have been upgraded but they are not amped. Probably throw something small in there sooner than later. I was trying to come up with a way to have an enclosure for the sub without sacrificing room for camping gear. Worked out pretty well.
