not a truck but whatever, we all have our money pits, some trucks, some toyotas, some not. ive been offroading since i was born, specifically OHV stuff, i learned to ride on ATCs in the late 80s and kept the desert rat addiction through my 30s now. done long travel trucks, 1 ton mud trucks, and even dabbled in the street vw scene for a little. but in 2016 i got into the SxS game and havent looked back. they are more than capable of doing almost anything, and for a total investment of less than 30k (they can get way more out of control but ive managed to stay semi-conservative with them) i can do enough, safely, without breaking down, and still have fun.

yamaha had the rhino with a 660cc engine and a CVT in the mid 2000s and that paved the way for SxS to really start being utilized for more than ranch work. in 2016 they released a new model, 5 speed sequential trans, 999cc triple that red lines at 11k, and about 16" of wheel travel. its not the fastest, the smoothest or the most "badass" SxS out there, but i love them. had my 2016 for a few years, then they released an update in 2019 and i just had to upgrade.

so here it is.
2019 Yamaha YXZ1000R.
i spent about a year fine tuning the Fox RC2 shocks in to where i really like the set up now.
It had a CageWrx roll cage, but after starting FastLab, i got LSK Suspension to hook it up with their version of a weld it yourself cage.
We designed some other items for the car, including a spare tire carrier, bed plate with MOLLE pattern and tie down locations, a passenger footwell storage box so i can safely store my XD and some tools on the trails, bumper, harness relocation kit, etc.
Put 3" Simpson D3 5pt harnesses in
Weller Racing retuned the ECU
GYTR intake tubes
Trinity Racing exhaust
Raceline beadlock wheels
30" CST Behemoth tires
Packard Performance Smog delete kit
KC Flex ditch lights
KC Cyclone dome lights
5150 LED whips

this car has roughly (havent been on a dyno yet) 145hp at the crank, and weighs about 1500lbs. shes fun, is quick enough, and can hit 90+ in any terrain which is fast enough for my health insurance. I know theres a few members here that also have SxS or at least have looked into them, so feel free to shoot me any questions and i will provide as much unbiased advice as possible.

here she is in the most current formdumont3.jpg123606217_196501548657953_6931068519780382694_o.jpg123441838_195911732050268_2112427096421267477_o.jpg122050907_191547105820064_7965342518335499710_o.jpgdumont2.jpg123625176_195915558716552_546884521134859895_o.jpg

Love the color scheme you got going one here.

I haven't gotten bit by the SxS bug yet. They are pretty damn cool, but with them not being street legal in CA, it makes going for trips a little more difficult and limits where you can go. Maybe one day I'll get the bug, but for now I'll enjoy the passenger seat in friends SxS's.

You have the fab skills and ability to work on your rig and a great area to wheel. The great thing about so-cal is we can do so much, the slow rock crawling or high speed desert stuff. Honestly the SxS thing came outta necessity lol
Had to stop playing with my daily, and this has a warranty
