You can scoll the maps to this "local area" then search. Your gonna be amazed at how great google works.
I won't be in Bishop until after 6, so unless Google maps can magically teleport me there before businesses close that doesn't do me any good.

Down here it does help, travelling 10 hours away in the afternoon, not so much

Matt is there somewhere local where you can get good firewood cheap? I can pick it up and throw it in bed on the way up. The only places I know of to get firewood in socal is from grocery stores.

I've never purchased wood so I have no idea. There's got to be a place in kyburz to get some.

Google maps bishop, then search the area once it's on the map. I saw a few places selling wood while I was up there wandering around the hotel.

Or take a drive back up some of the fireroads. I'm sure there's plenty of downed wood.

I know how to use google maps.

I'm driving 10 hours after I get off work at 2PM to get to the trailhead to start it at sunrise. I won't be there until 12AM-1AM. I'm not going to interrupt the drive to go drive down fireroads looking for fallen trees to chop up, making the entire trip take hours longer than it already will.

I was simply asking Matt if he knew of anywhere local to get it and I could transport it from there since he won't have any room in his 4R. I would prefer to get it somewhere closer to Lake Tahoe, however it will likely all be closed by the time I get there, even most Bishop businesses will be shut down by the time I roll through there, probably sometime around 6-7PM.

Try calling some places and see what time they close. Took me all of 30 seconds to find a list near bishop....

I sent Andy a link to a place in town that I heard about from a friend. It's covered and no googling was needed. You fuckers rely to much on tech.

My rigs packed and ready to go. Just need to find my supply of top ramen. lol

@Mike_taco4x4 Tell me you got that throwout bearing taken care of. It's gonna be a fun trip. Hope you make it.

Bummer. She's actually pretty sweet when she wants to be.

So it's just me and you. I'll be camping somewhere along Ice House Road on the way in. I hope I'll get there with enough time to do some fishing. I read that the camping area at loon is closed for 2019 but if I can bandit camp at the trailhead I will. Either way let's plan on 6am at the trailhead.

OK, sounds good. That's what I was planning, just park at the trailhead and take a nap.

At least Andy doesn't drink so you won't be up until midnight getting hammered and be too hung over to do anything the next day. :anon:
