What kind of fuckery is going on there? Did the bolt back out and get ground down? Also, how the fuck are you still running a stock gas tank skid?!

@Tetten found it like that after I got back to camp.

The plug isn't the stock drain plug. It's a round allen head plug. I put it in a few years ago because I kept knocking the stock plug loose. That one has held for many trips. I still have no idea what the fuck happened. I managed to get the drain plug backed out. About 1/2 of the threads where stripped. The good threads where towards the bolt head so it must have backed out first then started stripping.

I pulled the fill plug and used that as the drain plug. Then I used a cut-off wheel to cut back to the last good threads on the stripped plug and used that as the fill plug. Then I drove 271 miles home. lol

I guess you don't know my moto, Build it, beat it, break it, build it stronger, repeat. That stock skid hasn't broken yet. lol

Aren't you running gusseted spindles?
Could've sworn you welded them on backwards or something but it still works, or was that someone else?

Those spindles had the LBJ's welded to them as a trail repair on Coyote. I wheeled them the rest of that year then replaced them with these. I have the new gussets in the garage just hadn't welded them up yet.

Dang - Total Chaos is your friend.

If you had manual hubs I could send you a spindle.

I have spare spindles in my rig. It was a 45 minute repair. 10 minutes of that was crimping off the broken brake hard line. lol

You own this carnage thread!!!

I do what I can. Remember that huge ditch I hit on that dusted out corner in Saline? Yep. That fucker caused the damage. It just finally let loose when I went up today to recover some dude stuck up on Buttermilk Loop.

Now the question is how the hell did that happen? Limit straps should keep the UBJ from binding. Or did the limit strap get all fuckered up and stop being benificial?
