Whatcha got planned? :popcorn2:
@Theblackflag don't BL. DONT DO IT!:der:

and I know what 5.29s mean!
Agreed! No BL and more tire!!

Also, your next!

So my Arb locker for the front will be getting here Tomorrow morning and I just ordered gears this morning. Just Differentials is having a 15% off all nitro products through Sunday, so 140 off a complete gear set and master install kit for both diffs? I think yes! Ill be having the diff work done locally here in the next month or so, whenever I get the money together.

Long term plan is 35 inch Falken MTs or Cooper STT pros hopefully by my next Moab trip in late March.

My decision on the body lift is influenced more by frame flex than the actual tires. I need new body mounts, my front fenders are getting rolled inward and pushing my headlights out of wack anytime I really flex the truck out, ie Golden Crack. I already have poly body mounts on my two rear mounts and my rear bumper has still been making contact with the rear quarter panels and rear hatch. Enough so that the rear hatch got pushed out of alignment and wouldn't open without someone pushing from inside and it cut all my wires that go to my tire swingout clean like a pair of wire cutters last time I wheeled the truck. The extra 1/2 inch of body lift will hardly be noticeable visually and wont really mess with any of linkages and what not, but it hopefully will end all my contact issues. My plan is to clearance for tires without it and then once they clear install the new body mounts and 1/2 inch body lift to ensure Ill never end up rubbing.

Do the frame drop!

Coming down Cliffhanger in the dark we had to come down an off camber ledge that had an off camber slope leading to it. Started stacking rocks to lessen the ledge's bad angle, I was looking for one last perfect rock and found it down below on the trail. Picked it up and started uphill with it, put my foot on a slope, went to take a step up and my foot slipped on sand covering the sandstone and fell forward smashed the rock onto my wrist and upper body onto the rock. Fractured the radius at the end.

Jesus. Glad you're okay. Almost the same damned thing I did last year when I dislocated my elbow in death valley.

Faired mostly well this year. Got hammered and fell in the fire. Twice. Hahaha. Second time was worse than the first one.

Got me thinking about a 1/2” frame drop now. I never considered it before, but we do hit the rear fenders on a full flat compression, and I’ve been planning to tub the front inner fenders for clearance on those big hits too. And the front bumper beats the piss out of the glass fenders on flex.

Anyone know how much of a fuckfest it is to swap all the body mounts on a Tundra?

I don't have any pictures of the trail fix. But blew up a rear diff and front cv at the same time. Took sometime getting it to flat ground , lots of winching and dragging but made it. That night @05tacomabro @Rat_Bastard and ben set out to grab what was needed for the trail repairs and for a extra night camping out. Couldn't have gotten out with out them. After fixing the front cv and pulling the drive shaft @05tacomabro and the black dalhia pulled my ass up the last hill where we slowly limp it down the hill to the shop. 20190105_173445.jpg20190106_181002.jpg

If your gonna break shit your going to do it in style. I've busted a lot of CV's but I've always had the rear diff to help me get out. Nice job on complete and total immobility. Glad you got the rig out and to the shop. I've been there. So has my winch. lol

Oh me and this thread are going to get along just fine.

I have lots to post from the last few years but I’ll refrain for now.

This is from last weekend

I rearranged the underneath!
Gas tank got hammered pretty good, and i punctured it. It was pouring out pretty bad. I parked it on an angle to prevent it from leaking further, and my buddy Ian hooked me up with some 5 min epoxy, I put some of that on the puncture and hammered it closed. Been driving it for 5 days not and it appears to be holding.

Also smashed my carrier bearing and muffler really nicely. Muffler is a little loud now. Once I pried the carrier bearing strap off the shaft it actually drives fine still.

Still running it. It ain’t pretty but I need to save money for cool truck stuff so.

I only have a 10 gauge steel gas tank skid, but with the beating it's taken and still protecting my gas tank it's better than the tinfoil piece was that was there originally. I should probably add some 5 min epoxy to my tool bag though.

I didn’t think it would work. I’m *pretty sure* it’s still holding. I haven’t spontaneously combusted yet.

Hahaha that's a good one!! I punctured my tank once. It was the first time I met @Tetten, @fj_bruiser, and Alex. Hit it on a rock on the first fucking obstacle and sprung a leak. I gotta admit, I was a little embarrassed since I knew these guys for like 15 minutes at this point. Alex has some QuickSteel, and we patched it up, and it held for a few weeks before it started to seep fuel. That led me to just moving the whole tank out of the way, so I don't smash it anymore.

Broke a spindle hammering through the "ditch / quad trails" beside the service road everyone was creeping down. I was doing like 70km/h and didn't realize there were like 2' whoops that were buried under the snow. Pretty sure I snapped my rear axle upper control arm at the same time but didn't find that until a week or two after haha. Jacked it up, cut a small log to jam between the lower control arm and bumpstop. This let the tire rub against the shock coil instead of the shock tower. Had 4 miles or so to drive back to where I could a tow. Log fell out or crumpled at some point and tire still took some damage. Temp was --22 celcius that day. Truck was sitting with factory rear coils and I took all the preload out of my front icons.

Lost a lower ball joint after a full day of winter wheeling. Luckily it didn't completely separate. Dont have many pictures of it because it was cold as fuck that day. Was so windy in the river valley where it happened the truck was rocking like crazy and almost slipped off the hi-lift. Luckily I had extra bolts in the truck. After torching off the ice we found the problem. Out of the 4 bolts holding the LBJ on I had one left. It had started to thread out and was bent to shit. LBJ had lifted off the locating pins and the cv was holding from turning completely around. Luckily I was on riverbed gravel and stopped immediatmely.
Truck melting out after. Like I said it took some time to torch off the ice to even reveal the bolts. -30 with lots of river crossing and wet sections insulated with snow. I even thought my front shocks had blown because the lower cups that hold the coil were filled with ice and were bottoming out a couple inches early.
https://flic.kr/p/UNeGuF The hero and last bolt holding my LBJ on. One had backed out completely and was MIA, another was completely gone and had taken all the threads in the spindle with it, and the last one was sheared. Luckily it was one of the two that are exposed on the top so we were able to grab the top with some vice grips and spin it out.
https://flic.kr/p/THvEqQ Put 3 new bolts in and drove that spindle around for like a year ahaha
