Oh me and this thread are going to get along just fine.

I have lots to post from the last few years but I’ll refrain for now.

This is from last weekend
35648259-2456-41-F1-8-DC0-035430174-AE9.jpg

I rearranged the underneath!
Gas tank got hammered pretty good, and i punctured it. It was pouring out pretty bad. I parked it on an angle to prevent it from leaking further, and my buddy Ian hooked me up with some 5 min epoxy, I put some of that on the puncture and hammered it closed. Been driving it for 5 days not and it appears to be holding.

Also smashed my carrier bearing and muffler really nicely. Muffler is a little loud now. Once I pried the carrier bearing strap off the shaft it actually drives fine still.

Still running it. It ain’t pretty but I need to save money for cool truck stuff so.

Broke a spindle hammering through the "ditch / quad trails" beside the service road everyone was creeping down. I was doing like 70km/h and didn't realize there were like 2' whoops that were buried under the snow. Pretty sure I snapped my rear axle upper control arm at the same time but didn't find that until a week or two after haha. Jacked it up, cut a small log to jam between the lower control arm and bumpstop. This let the tire rub against the shock coil instead of the shock tower. Had 4 miles or so to drive back to where I could a tow. Log fell out or crumpled at some point and tire still took some damage. Temp was --22 celcius that day. Truck was sitting with factory rear coils and I took all the preload out of my front icons.

You guys are from Alberta. Sweet. I've got a question for you guys that maybe you could help with.

First, nice carnage. Stuff like that is the whole reason I started the thread. Plus, I tend to have a lot of carnage and needed a support group. lol

Onto the question. What do you guys know about the Bow River and Ghost River valley's?

I climb a lot and those are two places that I've always wanted to go. Can you legally drive in? If not how close can you wheel to them? My rigs capable and I'm not a big fan of hiking so the closer I can get to the rocks the better. lol

Those pics of my hammered gas tank may or may not be from ghost last weekend.

Yeah, you've got a picture you posted in Fabricators Corner thread that has some nice looking rock in the background. If you want to take the real answer to PM let me know. I totally get not wanting to out an area that's not legal but gets wheeled all the time. There's a few in my backyard as well. lol

Spider gears in my front diff decided to grenade about 8 hours from home. Another winter trip. Winched around on the trail and drove back down with a few more winching episodes when I slid out of the snow tracks.
https://flic.kr/p/23UiwHb https://flic.kr/p/24VkcxY Luckily on the drive home my clutch gave out. My release bearing which had started to squawk a week or two before quit completely. Had rev match and start it up in gear for a few days before my new clutch showed up.

I've done some minor gas tank clearance work too.

Haha there he is
Well there we go. Now I know who you are talking about hahah
Lost a lower ball joint after a full day of winter wheeling. Luckily it didn't completely separate. Dont have many pictures of it because it was cold as fuck that day. Was so windy in the river valley where it happened the truck was rocking like crazy and almost slipped off the hi-lift. Luckily I had extra bolts in the truck. After torching off the ice we found the problem. Out of the 4 bolts holding the LBJ on I had one left. It had started to thread out and was bent to shit. LBJ had lifted off the locating pins and the cv was holding from turning completely around. Luckily I was on riverbed gravel and stopped immediatmely.
Truck melting out after. Like I said it took some time to torch off the ice to even reveal the bolts. -30 with lots of river crossing and wet sections insulated with snow. I even thought my front shocks had blown because the lower cups that hold the coil were filled with ice and were bottoming out a couple inches early.
https://flic.kr/p/UNeGuF The hero and last bolt holding my LBJ on. One had backed out completely and was MIA, another was completely gone and had taken all the threads in the spindle with it, and the last one was sheared. Luckily it was one of the two that are exposed on the top so we were able to grab the top with some vice grips and spin it out.
https://flic.kr/p/THvEqQ Put 3 new bolts in and drove that spindle around for like a year ahaha
Had that happen to me over New Years. Luckily I was like 1/4 mile from camp and traveling really slow considering I was driving at 30+mph most of the day.
Lost two bolts, and the other two sheared. I was able to steal two bolts from the other side to limp it back to camp. The next morning we drove into town and got a new LBJ since they come with new bolts. I got one sheared bolt out with an extractor bit and couldn’t get the other one out. So I had three bolts holding it together, then used jumper cables to stick weld a bead next to the last missing bolt. Still driving like that. Probably gonna leave it until I change LBJ’s again.

Didn’t get any pics of the incedent right after it happened, but my brother got a couple pics as I was putting it all back together.

Yes!!! Dude my body damage doesn’t look that bad any more. I follow you on IG. I love the 35s at stock height and the bobbed bed.

Thanks man! This photo hurts me because your paint looks really nice otherwise.

I got a little more body damage from that little rock garden on the weekend. Quite similar to this. But my body is already beat, so.

If I had sheet metal instead of body panels, the body would be trashed. As it is I've been driving around without most of my trim pieces since I ripped them off in September.
