Every time I hit a link mount, I could hear you saying, "It's fine, you won't hit them that often". On one of the hills the drive side lower link fucked me and I had to winch.
Well I kinda forget that your wheelbase is like 2ft longer than mine is, which means your breakover point is right where your lower link mounts are.... doh! Luckily they are still WAY tucked up compared to most 4 linked trucks.

I also was cursing my self for bitching out on the 37s...

What happened to those 37's? You still have them? I need a few "test" tires. Although I'm positive I'll clear with a 1" body lift. Then @AssBurns will have to do a frame notch for me so I clear the damn frame.

Nope. I sold them off. Gotta get another set of them in ridge grapplers instead of the trail grapplers. after I find motivation to engine cage. to clear them.

Why Ridge Grapplers instead of the Trail Grapplers? Aren't the TG better for what we do?

No. The Ridge Grappler is the tire you want for how we wheel. It's what I ran the Dusy on 2 years ago. The Trail is more of an AT while the Ridge is the new "hybrid" style. Deeper lugs, better grip, but still drives kinda quietly.

Says the guy that has PBR's...
As far as traction is considered for rocks, isn't the TG better for that? Assuming you are not caring about highway noise or all weather performance, wouldn't the TG be better?

Yeah, your right. I was mixing up the Trail and Terra Grapplers in my head. If you don't care about noise a MT will perform better then a Hybrid but not by that much. @Tetten is running Ridge Grapplers and he did everything my PBR's did.

MT tires are overrated for weekend warrior vehicles.

From what I've seen, any advantages MT tires have are marginal and situational, and in my experience not worth the on road compromises for most users. After wheeling the hell out of these tires, I've come to the conclusion that unless you are running 40s or bigger, there's no reason to run MTs.

Food for thought:
You can quantify the noise increase from MT tires
You can quantify the MPG loss from MT tires
You can quantify the vibration and rumbling increased from MT tires
You cannot quantify the real world on-trail performance/traction gains.

Yep. I'm super fucking over these km2s as far as road noise goes and the rig typically only gets driven to/from trails. However, as long as DT keeps replacing them when I cut a sidewall I'll keep running them. Maybe when I have a real job again I can sell these to OC overland and buy something else.

totally agree. ran the truck on the ridge grapplers and didn't notice a difference between these and the MT's on the trail. Andy and did some washes in some loose shit and rocks. Only things I notice between a MT and these AT's.... balanced, no shakes, quite, smooth.
