this is my 98 sr5, 5spd, 4wd. I’ve done some modest mods to it and seems to get along fine for my needs. This is my 2nd 4Runner, the first I rolled on a dirt road with the help of ABS induced skid. So I got another one exactly like the first only a year newer. I’ve been messing with this new one since the moment it pulled into the driveway. I’d have to really think about ALL the things I’ve done, but the main ones are suspension lift, tires, 02’ interior swap, roof rack, cargo drawers and molle rack. I’ve done a ton of maintenance on this girl and have a ton more in the works. Thanks for looking

How do y’all make your build threads so cool and seem less? Mine is just words and photo links. Well one day it may look tighter.

First. Post more details. Second use the ‘insert full image’ button when you upload a photo. That way you can put the image into the body of the text, rather than an attachment

The rear is rough country springs with tundra 5100s and 4runner bushings. I have Mstut’s end links front and rear. Cooper at tires 265/75/16. The whole interior has been removed cleaned and replaced. I upgraded the center console to 02’ limited, wood grain and cup holders. I built a molle rack for the back window from a shopping cart bottom. I built rear cargo drawers. They work awesome and I use them constantly. I’m going to redo soon and add side boxes. I built a roof rack from aluminum channel that allows the cross bars to slide the full length of the rack, all modular and lowww.

So I’ve been tinkering a bit and this is where I’m at. I hit 200k last mont and gave her the once over, new oil, filters, and little stuff. Then I put a elocker axle in back, after I completely rebuilt it. Next was the front diff (to match gear ratios), steering rack, lca bushings, ubj and new cvs, holy memaw that was work. I got new wheels from another member that clear the tbu, so now that’s in the works. Along with ss brake lines. I’m thinking about making a skid plate and getting some lights to help at night (duh). Waiting on a friend for the harness to wire up the locker. I’m also working on getting some cvs rebooted and ready for action.

Well everyone, I’m proud of myself. I’ve had a vibration since I bought my rig(seller claimed tires). I’ve put tires on stock wheels and had balanced multiple times, better, but still there’s vibration at different speeds. U-joints!!! Took drive shafts to Tim at precision products, had it completely rebuilt and balanced. Still vibration. Found a slightly bad pinion bearing in rear axle, swapped for elocker axle, still vibration. Love my truck so I keep digging, not a bad /scary vibration just there. So I ask Darrel at Lloyd’s transmission if the flange from the trans case to d shaft can bend and how to check. This morning I measured the flange for runout and found it out by at least a mm. So put another flange I had got on and checked the runout, way better. After reassembly I took her out. Hot dog, it’s way better , like new truck better. I feel so good and now I want to go out wheeling/exploring. I think what caused the flange to bend was over filling the slip joint with grease and hydronicly tweaking it when the joint flexed. Since I bought it with vibe I’m going to blame the other people, but I’ll always be careful and double check it’s not over filled.
