Or enjoy the ride of wrenching... :headwall: but if you do... use FCPeuro as much as possible. Not affiliated, but they have a lifetime replacement on pretty much ALL parts. Even batteries and wiper blades. Yes, I've mentioned that before around these parts.
Appreciate that referral. Ordered a new power steering pump with lifetime warranty along with some common seals. Expensive little bastard, that pump. Nice to know I can get it replaced at no cost if it goes again.

I need taller jack stands. Holy shit things are tight on this car. And the more I dig into it, the more I find. All the boots are shot, axles are probably rusted into the hubs. Ball joint boots are toast. The list goes on. Welcome to Wisconsin salt paradise.

I use my truck 12 ton stands at zero to work under my car, but you may need to jack up the rear too.

you have space to work on planes, get some of your cronies together and get a lift? between a few guys it'd get used. lord knows I'd make friends with the devil to have access to a lift whenever.

nearly instant gratification option: pin style jack stands. they are awesome, the torins are great for a passenger vehicle.

If only we could work on cars in (rental) hangars. Frowned upon by our friends who accept FAA funding. When I get my own strip, though... damn the torpedoes.

Ordered new axles, control arms, bushings, ball joints for this skateboard. All for a few hundred clams. Should be a fun weekend project, especially with the temps expected to climb back into the 90s.

Replacing most of the up-front stuff soon. We’ll see what shape the steering components are in when I get it apart.
yea bearings would be #1 concern, then all nooks and crannies. Rust is a pest infestation. where you see a few, you know there's a million more you do not see.

my cheap wifi usb inspection camera has been invaluable with the house and looking around. I'd imagine the same looking into all those tight spaces.

I’m going to give up at some point knowing that this is a 20yo Wisconsin car. Just making it safe is priority #1. Grinding that rusty quarter was a dumb idea. Now I have to fix it.
