My clutch started slipping and is ready for a refresh

What's the recommended replacement?
Stock, Stage 2?
Any particular brand?

The only time I’ve had a clutch replaced in my 2000 I used an Aisin. I didn’t want to mess around with a HD clutch because I daily it and wanted to play it safe

Leaning towards the rec by @Dezert4Runner I'm going Aisin, except for the flywheel, which will be Sachs based on reputation and availability

Found a local shop that will use customer supplied parts, and turn it around in a day or 2 max - plus they will warranty their work (not the parts)

Anything else I should add to this besides a rear main seal?

Good call on the rear main seal. I had also had it done on mine while they were in there.

The valucraft is 40.7 % more gooder than anything oem
Appreciated, and as many contractors like to say
"Looks good from my house"

I will leave those brands and selections for you and stick with Toyota/OEM.
20+ years of service is better than a lifetime warranty on cheap import parts.

I always went with the taillight warranty. If the taillights go out of sight the warranty is expired.

It's OK to be afraid of high quality parts

I run an LC engineering clutch. It's a bit stronger than stock. Holds pretty well to abuse.
Flywheel bolts are supposedly one time use.

The LCE clutch that I looked at was over $800 delivered...
I'll validate with my shop before I drop my rig off

I didn't use any special parts to pull my main seal like this guy. I drill a small hole in the face of the seal. Not too deep. Thread in a small wood screw. Pull the seal out with pliers from the head of that wood screw.

Sometimes you can use a small dental pick, but be sure not to scratch anything

Nah mine was a bit over 300 plus shipping. This is what I'm running, but for the 4 banger motor.
I really wish I had done more research, that looks like a really nice clutch, but I figure if Aisin/ OEM lasted 20 years, I'd be okay for a few years going that route

I ordered up fresh factory flywheel and pressure plate bolts from Yoda shop and I'm thinking about getting a rear main seal sleeve, too. Just in case...

Called Yotashop and caught my order before it shipped. Mike was able to add a sleeve for me, no additional shipping fee.
