The dude that ripped off my content is "turbodb". He has a website called Adventuretaco. His write-ups are excellent. They just happen to be for the most part based off my work. The most blatant ripoffs are of my rear axle seal video and timing belt videos but there's others like his LCA bushing write-up. It just irks me the dude is actually making money off my work. At this point, even if he prominently mentioned my channel and linked my videos in his ripoff write-ups, the fact he's making money off it really annoys the shit out of me. He did mention me in the rear axle seal job and I was mentioned for a while on the timing belt write-up but any mention of my channel or video is now gone.

Am I wrong to be pissed about this? I am wired a bit tightly, but this just feels shitty for a guy to turn a profit from ripping off my work.

A guy on Facebook had mentioned this turbodb guy (Dan) also does trip reports of sensitive areas in Utah which draws people to these archeological sites the park service wants to deter people from going into. The guy thought Ol' Dan was a serious dirtbag, just like I do.

Naw I'd be pissed too. I'm probably more pissed if dude is giving info to not well known areas. Far too much of that shit happening these days.

The guy you had this spat with may or may not be on T4R.org in case you’d like to continue your discussion :anon:
Thanks for the Intel, but I need to let it go. I already invested too much energy into that a-hole. He'll probably keep on ripping off my content, and if he's ok with that, we'll, I believe karma will pay Ol' Dan a visit one day. When you shit on people, don't be surprised when life serves you a big shit sandwich at some point.

Not jberry. Looks like they sent ya packing under the excuse of code of conduct. Ohwell. Welcome. We are all banned here.
@ColoradoTrannyJob is who banned me. He just became a mod and went on a power trip, started banning anyone who replied in the AZBS thread. I had a 7 day and have only logged in twice since Nov 2019.

You know what's funny, is the moderator banned me for Self Promotion, but the guy I blasted is also doing self-promotion because clicking on his write-up brings you to his website where he sells things. In his write-ups, there's Amazon and Ebay Associates links for the tools and parts he lists. So, in reality, this guy should be banned as well. I would love for someone to bring this up on the TW forum to see how the POS moderators respond.

Another thing I would love is for someone to start a thread on TW posing a question. Something like this. "I recently noticed Timmy the Toolman was banned for self-promotion. But, wasn't his videos a direct benefit to the membership? His videos have helped tons of 1st Gen Tacoma owners. They have definitely helped me. I also know he has been active on this forum answering people's questions. So, I'm looking for a show of hands. If Timmy has helped you, please comment and let us know in what way he has.

Anyone willing to start those threads on TW will get a $100 Venmo or Paypal donation from me. $100 for each thread. If you do both, you get $200. But, before I send you payment, you have to show me a screenshot that you did it and later on show me some screenshots of the responses.

I honestly don't why I give a shit but I guess it's because I still have a bad taste in my mouth of how I was treated. I know I helped out a ton of people on that forum and I'm wondering if people will speak up on my behalf and show their appreciation for the help I've given them.

It's not even worth it. You wanna get back at tw? Promote this forum on your videos. You can't even post our URLs (except one they don't know about) there. That's the biggest fuck you to that forum. Myself and @AssBurns literally got perma ban for starting this forum along with a couple others. We weren't even promoting it on TW, it was just because we had another forum dedicated to off-roaders and we were able to talk shit freely without tw moderation.

You're right. I'd like a little bit of vindication, but it is probably best to not bother.

Sure. I will promote this forum on my channel. I'm very much liking what I'm seeing. People ask me tons of questions and quite often I don't know the answer and I always direct them to forums to possibly find the help they need. I will start directing people this way. This forum is a breath of fresh air.

We're very much word of mouth or Google searches oriented. At the same time, newbies beware. This isn't Facebook, this isn't t4r, and this isn't tw. We're here to offer help for people looking to move past that newbie stage, but for fucks sake you better know how to change your oil and spark plugs. Asking if you can clear 33s on a stock lift is going to bring ridicule.

Fitting 33 with stock 4" lift is possible. Ask me how I know.

Everyone self promotes over there. It is just their excuse to ban you. They don't really give a shit.

Yep, exactly. That's why I wanted someone to throw the hypocrisy in their faces. I remember when I first drove up on that forum and started sharing my videos, the reception wasn't very friendly. Some established guys were taking pot shots at me. My response was something like this, "It seems my contributions aren't really welcome here. Maybe I won't bother posting here anymore." Several guys responded and said, 'No, no, no, we like your stuff. Please keep posting." So, there was some jealousy and hate directed towards me early on. I think I was just tolerated by the establishment. I really think it comes down to jealousy because the kings of the forum couldn't match the reach I had with my videos. Not to pat myself on the back, but there is nobody that comes close to the library of material we have produced to benefit people who own 1st Gen Tacomas and 3rd Gen 4runners. And, our content continues to grow. Pretty soon I'm going to partner with Yota1 Performance yet again to document a rebuild of our manual transmissions and automatic transmissions. I just recently partnered with East Coast Gear Supply to show people how to rebuild our front and rear differentials. I flew out to Louisburg, NC with my buddy Thanh and we spent two days with the CEO, Chase Perry doing an interview with him and shooting the differential rebuilds. That was an awesome partnership.

So, the dipshits at TW got rid of arguably the biggest contributor to this platform and favored a POS plagiarist of our work. Yes, I could have been more tactful and not let my anger get the better of me, but I'm glad I did, because my ranting thread exposed to me what these people really thought of me. They were waiting for me to give them a chance to rip me to shreds. Well, good job TW douchebags. You opened my eyes and I'll go where my contributions are appreciated and respected. They couldn't beg me to come back to that shithole forum. Good riddance!

Yeah best thing you can do is keep improving yourself and your videos. Sounds like you have some good shit in the works. Good on you. Keep it up. I use whatever I can to teach myself what im getting myself into before I start a project. I have used your videos a few times to see what's going on before diving in. All in all welcome to the site.

There was some discussion about it in the 1st Gen lunchtable thread and the general consensus is this sucks, everyone there loved your content

Keep making more videos and fuck tw, myself and all other 1st Gen taco owners will keep watching
