Compound means much more than sipe pattern for wear.

Yeah, he is correct, it is more of the compound of the tire when it comes to tire wear.

My falkens were quite stiff. Sipping and grooving then made a big difference. Only wear I noticed was just them chunking out on sharp rocks.

Also, siping helps with "cooling".

EDIT: as someone had mentioned earlier... HAHAHA

@AssBurns not all tire shops have a siping machine, but they do do them here, just gotta find who has a siping machine.
