I hate to do this on my own forum, and I already have the opinions of my local group, but I thought, I guess I need a little more peer pressure.

2010 with 27k miles. 4wd, off road and tow package. This was my grandpa's truck. It would be a mild build for things such as death valley, Mojave road, Joshua tree, etc while the 4runner becomes a dedicated local trail rock crawling rig vs long distance travel road trips. So shocks, leafs, sliders, and ifs skids. It would be my "overland" exploring rig. Bed rack, rtt, fridge slide in the back seat, etc.

I checked the 4wd hi/lo and rear diff. They all work.

I'd have to sell my prerunner, the Jetta, and get a loan to cover the 8-10k that this truck is actually worth. I have about 2 weeks to make a decision.

Well since you asked...
Id say do it if you have a new job lined up. "Live within your means" Dont spend what you dont have playa. Its just a downward spiral. Theres all ways a deal out there.
Separately having two offroad rigs one overland and another rock crawler is fucking retarded. Unless you sas the 4 runner its always an overlander just like our whole group we like to think we badass rock crawlers but the real guys laugh at us.lmao

Couldn't agree more. Although they laugh at some of us more then others. Fridges get the biggest laughs. :flipoff:

I push hard enough to break shit. A lot. My next build will be a buggy on 40s. Big motor. Big parts. And on a trailer so I can get home after I break it.

I still want a 2nd gen runner SAS with the 3.4 SC swap. 37s or 40s.

Get all this shit with the ex squared away, and when you are seriously considering another vehicle, look towards a duramax and a trailer to be able to tow the 4runner. As nice as it currently is to be able to drive the 4runner everywhere, it is so much better to be able to tow it to certain trips.

Dude that's exactly what I was thinking earlier. I dunno about a duromax, but definitely tow pig + trailer.
