Alright I need to finally pick up a multimeter of my own. I rarely use one (mostly because I don't know how to use one besides some very basics), so I've always borrowed my dads.
I don't know the first thing about them and what to look for. I know Klein is a good brand and Home Depot sells them so I can pick one up today. I know you get what you pay for so I doubt that getting the $30 one will be worthwhile. Do I just buy one, cry once and get the nicest one they have or is that packed full of features I'll never use?
Also some of them have clamps. Worth getting one of those ones or no?

Amp clamps are nice for condemning a starter but that's about all I use them for. End up using the power probe more than my dmm

The clamps are for your nipples

You could get a super ridiculously cheap harbor freight one to see if the extra features are actually needed

Good to know. From the little research I've done it seems like that might not be something I need to worry about.

I could but I'll probably end up spending more later on a better one because the HF one broke like half the tools I own from them.

My EDC is Commercial Electric from Depot. Happens to be a clamp type.
Cheap, auto ranging and durable. Probably had it four years or so at this point. Does everything I need it for on both Ac and Dc.

get one that has an auto "off".

I have a similar one that stays in the truck with the noco battery:
AstroAI Digital Multimeter (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071JL6LLL)

the only drawback to digital is the count rate. the one above is 2/second. If you want to be able to measure intermittent voltage, you want this one:
Tekpower TP8250 (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SLVPJSI)

Nice! Jealous!
If I had room in my garage I’d try to pick one of those up. I’m already shuffling shit constantly just to work in the garage.

Finally got the metric set of these SK X-frames that I ordered a couple months ago. Looks like the SAE wrenches are still on backorder from SK.
Man these things are sweet! That sub-2° arc swing is pretty rad. Looking forward to putting them to use.

So looking into a motorcycle lift/table. The hf one any good? At 500 bucks and 20%coupon it's making it hard to say no. Reviews seem great
