That's a lot of parts to keep track of.The hard part is done. I messed up and put my very first biscuit slots on the wrong side of the board. Must be some sort of rite of passage for the first time you use an alien tool. Thankfully I can put it on the inside of the cabinet that will be covered with other pieces.View attachment 78452View attachment 78453View attachment 78454View attachment 78455View attachment 78456

I ever tell you the story of how I took the fingernails off my pinky and ring finger with a biscuit joiner? That's absolutely a rite of passage with a biscuit joiner.
Nice work though.

I was pretty drunk. Paper towel and electrical tape and went back to workSounds like it probably hurt. A lot.
That’s quite the accomplishment. That blade is covered pretty well. Must have taken to pretty good acrobatics to do that.I ever tell you the story of how I took the fingernails off my pinky and ring finger with a biscuit joiner?
Just putting a slot into a tread nosing. So basically a small light piece that decided to move allowing my fingers to contact the blade. That’s quite the accomplishment. That blade is covered pretty well. Must have taken to pretty good acrobatics to do that.
Ouch! Glad you kept (most) of your fingers and found a good way.Just putting a slot into a tread nosing. So basically a small light piece that decided to move allowing my fingers to contact the blade.
I made a jig for doing it safely the next day.
That's a good trick, jig all the things for finish carpentry.Just putting a slot into a tread nosing. So basically a small light piece that decided to move allowing my fingers to contact the blade.

Usually I jig up for speed on repetitive tasks. That's a good trick, jig all the things for finish carpentry.
Just like we use a vise on the drill press for sheet metal....Usually I jig up for speed on repetitive tasks.
This one was also for safety..lol
Still drunk from the night before or from whatever you had with your breakfast? Not sure which is worse reallyI was pretty drunk. Paper towel and electrical tape and went back to work
Nah. Would start drinking after lunch.Still drunk from the night before or from whatever you had with your breakfast? Not sure which is worse really
I have owned almost every brand of miter saw. This one is absolutely one of the smoothest as far as slide and head drop. I only made a few cuts to check accuracy of bevel and miter. Once I get it on the job I will get a better feel for it.Torn between that and the Bosch. But I'm already going down Makita Lane, so... Oh, that's the 40V one? Cool.
