Modificated a DeWalt stand to add some wheels. Fuck lifting and carrying this 70# saw.
Wheels needed to be farther apart as there is a lot of weight on the back end of the saw and when in wheelbarrow mode it wants to tip. Going to mount the saw to some ply to move it more forward on the mounts and see how that works. Then it will get an aluminum plate for the final incarnation.

Been working on souping up this tool. It’s been good for fabbing things like battery holders as well as parts for itself (new cooling shroud). This should be fun.

My son said it best when I told him I could buy a collection of six battery holders holders from Amazon for $20 and have them delivered tomorrow before the first one finished printing. He said, “it’s not about the product, it’s about the journey.” So wise for a young man.

Looking forward to fabbing up one-of-kind tools as needed. Good way to get my 3-D CAD skills up.

Slowly trying out new tools and jigs with this workbench project. UJK has a system called the PARF Guide for jigging up holes for bench dogs if you’re using MFT-style tools. The jig is accurate to a gnat’s ass a comes with the metric bits as well. Places holes on 96mm centers and perfectly square using simple geometry.

Made a little progress on the workbench over the past week or so. Got a coat of clear on it, put the miter track in for the sliding top, and a T-track in the front for clamping. On the other side I got the router switch installed with a j-box and a plug on the other side to plug the router into and maybe a vacuum. This box only came with a 4-hole plate so I’ll have the 3D print a blank plate or something. Switch is too deep to put another plug in there. We’ll see what I come up with. About time to close up the router compartment and get a top on it.
