Hey all, I did not see a thread dedicated to the Toyota e-locker tech or trouble shooting (aside form the Pros/Cons thread), so I decide do to make one. Feel free to let me know if I missed the correct placement for this thread/question. Also, this can be a place to ask any other questions or post tech on these lockers. I'll kick us off: does anyone know the part number (if it even has an individual part number) for the female connector coming from the wiring harness to the locker position sensor? Or if this is a generic electrical connector that can be purchased? Pictures below. The pins in this connector have started to come loose and don make good contact anymore. I did pull the pins out as much as I could and re-soldered the connections. When I put it back on, the sensor worked and the actuator would lock/unlock. A few days of driving and I suppose I undid my fix, because back to the same issue. If I can't find an individual part number to order I might have to find a junked harness and cut out the connector I need to splice into mine. The rear end is out of a 1999 tacoma.

I have the same issue. I accidentally ripped my wiring out of the plug. I tried to put it back together but it just doesn't seem to work. I gave up and just leave it locked most of the time now.

Fuck I could have used this when I was fucking around with my fog lights.

But I just used new plugs. All good
I go to Orvacs for all of my connectors and whatever else electrical I need. They have a lot of crap inside the store. You should check em out. Their OC store is 2 minutes from McKenzies which is a nice bonus.

Edit: when I say for my connectors, I use Weather Pack connectors for all of my wiring jobs.

I’ve been there once or twice, might need to swing by there next week for some supplies.

who said that?

Well, I just did. Plus I read it on the internet so it must be true. lol

There's a lot of die hard stock guys out there that swear the e-locker is the bullet proof miracle cure to wheeling. Real wheelers know that's not true though. The bullet proof cure is a spool. But who the hell wants to drive that on the street. Although, now that I think about it, @AssBurns rig has become a trailer queen recently. Once he fixes his misfire issue he should spool his shit. lol

I thought e-lockers never fail. Yet you and @AssBurns have had some issues with them. My ARB may leak but it always locks. I'm sure I'll be eating those words on the next wheeling trip. lol
It may not work with the button but 3 bolts and a pry bar will manually lock it. That’s what I had to do that Saturday morning at Calico, but you were too hungover to see it. It takes like 3 minutes max to lock it. If a floor jack is handy it takes like 30 seconds.

That's how it's done!

When I had to do mine it was because the motor wasn't clocked in the right orientation after I had installed a fresh 3rd. The other times were done on other rigs because there was a failure within the circuits that commanded the motor to either engage/disengage..electrical issues

This. I love that it is a "mechanical" e-locker that allows this option. I would never say that this thing is the end all be all for rear locker options/hard core wheeling, I just really enjoy how it works, its an interesting little piece of machinery, and a fun conversion for the older pickups like mine. Also helps you make friends on the trail when you meet someone else who can complain about theirs not working right all the time lol.
