One of our friends has a nice big shop and a welding business doing more commercial/residential stuff, so we opted to take him up on his offer to use some of his space and tools to make big progress.

Crane for the win. The engine hoist was just fine, but the amount of work we got done in a day was un-matched.

As mentioned. These had to change quite a bit. We added a great big spacer/riser to get the engine tucked up without modifying the mounts themselves. Not sure why the Cummins Engine Mounts are like this, but they leave a bit to be desired.

I really love this 3-light integrated marker. I feel that this is the best use of space, and it is the most period correct modern light out there. Bonus: It is an Amazon special!

Finally I can show off some of the bonus kit.

Rear Bumper is perfect.

Roll cage got some Molle panels and a couple of sun shade panels. Probably would get some kind of bikini top at some point if my buddy decides.

This was a while ago, but we got a ton of work done and I think all parties involved agree that it came out looking alright.

We worked hard to get the panels lined up properly. Almost every panel needed coercing.

Here is our space-claim

We got some interior parts in, and this was right at the peak of my business. Around this time I graduated school (few months ago) and some accessories started to go in. My buddy has been a freaking Rockstar at learning through all of this and now we are seeing the fruits of that patience.

There is still a ton more to update here, but that gets us close to caught up.

I'll probably start filming the build from here on out. Maybe I will work on putting YouTube videos together to have it more well documented?

Cheers

I got this roller off of it's own weight so that I could build up a brand new set of gears. Nitro 4.10's, and solid spacer.

I haven't ever done a 9.5, and it turned out alright!

Anti-tamper torque paint to help me remember where I'm at in life.

Pattern came out looking fairly uniform.

I love this thing too! It is a cheapie off of Amazon or eBay IIRC. had to make a couple of minor improvements for it to swivel smoothly, but it works with the 9.5" & will definitely work with the 8" so I have no desires for anything fancier at this point.

While working on the other differential I noticed that the pinion nut washer was missing. Looking it up online I found it was a $5 washer and likely would take 5 days to show up.

I found a really nice piece of 1140 steel and machined a pinion nut washer in about 10 minutes. This stuff is extremely hard and friendly when machining unlike 4130....

Differential No.2 with all new everything. Pattern I absolutely dialed, slightly toe biased (competition set) and .006" of backlash. I am expecting some adjustments potentially since this is a high-torque application. 1000011932.jpg

Making dreams happen out of a small space!

On to the driveshafts. Took some measurements for the driveshafts using masking tape and making marks on the flanges.

Same method to verify bolt patterns on the flanges. Several different possible combinations with the triple drilled flanges.

Lots to update.

Fuel filler neck finally arrived, looks to be right on the money.

Had to take a break from that as we waited for parts on the fuel system to trickle in.
