Question for you guys. I just went with new UCAs to fix my camber issue in my allignment, however it did not allow me to gain any caster. I'm only able to get about 1.5* of caster out of the front. With that said, I'm looking at a lot of cutting to fit a 35" tire under this thing. The firewall is going to have to come back quite a bit unless I find another alternative.

My other question is bump travel. I'm assuming I will have plenty of rubbing at the top of the wheel well and will either have to limit bump travel (not interested), tub the wheel well? (seems like a lot of work) or look into a small body lift? Thoughts or opinions on what you all have had success with.

Ill tag @eimkeith because you seem to do the most amount of cycling when it comes to clearance.

What uca's did you go with? I have a set of all pro ucas that came of my Tacoma that I was going to put on the 4runner but decided to go with SPC's on both rigs because of the added caster adjustment.

I'm getting 3* castor easily. Are your lowers seized?

You have missed the thread. Tacoma uppers won't work on 4th gen spindles. So better you changed the UCA anyway.

Sorry, what truck, which UCAs again?

Second gen Tacoma but he hasn't said which arms. If he can't get more than 1.5* I'm leaning towards a LCA issue anyway. I had one sticking not too long ago, the cam would spin but the arm wouldn't move much. Smacked with a bfh and freed it up.

2nd Gen Tacoma. Dirt King heim mounted UCAs.

Truck is a salvage title and the frame was tweaked. I've always had alignment issues with it. The new UCAs helped with the camber so now I'm at least within "spec" but I'm having trouble getting more caster out of it.

My guess is you can probably get more caster, but your alignment guys might not have an easy time pulling it off. Are any of the LCA alignment cams maxed out?

You're probably right. I don't take it to get quality alignments being I take it so much. Might be something to look into this weekend.

I'll have to take a look and see where the cam lies.

I know about all that. I have the same. 2nd gen with tweaked frame. I am using SPC's. Driver side15519927959271599438512.jpg passenger side15519928601031514265139.jpg getting 2.3 caster on both. Sides but definitely set up totally different. If your lowers are not seized up I would consider selling the DK uca's and get some SPC's.

Max out the caster cams, get your toe readjusted and call it a day. thats litterally all I did and then just eyeballed the toe... I have yet to have a shop do an alignment on this truck.

You'll still have some rub at the top of the wheel well. there is no avoiding it and it only happens when you are hauling ass and bottom out the the front. It's totally fine to live with.

The firewall, you can smash back with a hammer or tub it. I'd tub it and do it the right way the first time around. First truck I had was cleared by the hammer method. this truck we tubed the firewall and glad we did.

Why do you suspect the frame is tweaked? Looks like the strut tower might've been shoved in a little, possibly. Perhaps a tower brace would've mitigated that?

For those who tubbed with moonroofs, what did you do about a new drain(location)? Tubbing has eliminated where it used to drain out and it seems like it will pool up inside on the bare metal.

Hey assburns, have you ever done any tubed fenderwells for anyone? Im thinking of tubing mine and also trimming up the fender wells a good bit if not just putting tubes in there instead.

You talking about the drain to the rear quarter panels? I just make sure I left a small hole for any water to drain out. I’m sure that’s not the best option but you could always reroute or extend the hose to drain outside the cab.

Talking about the rear? I’ve only done it on mine. I’ve helped others tub the firewall but that’s about it.

Actually I’m thinking about the front for me as I get a feeling my front end is going to start cracking up in a few years. I def like that firewall tubing you did. I would down to get my stuff tubed next time in the area if you had time to do one.

I’m looking at the front a pillar drains, located in the 1st pic of thread 1552960821899.png
That clear tube hanging down. I’m trying to minimize water intrusion.

Get in line. If he actually decides to do it again I've got first dibs and there was someone after me.:rofl:
