K, so i changed out my u-joints and carrier bearing this weekend, and now if i stomp on it a bit from a stop, theres clunks from the back of the truck, double checked and everything is tight, if i stomp it while its moving no issues, just when its at a stop...

Any suggestions? Not sure what to do besides take it to a mechanic...

Make sure everything is greased? My 4runner clunks sometimes when it's starting to get dry.

Excuse my ignorance, the carrier bearing supports the d shaft, right, on tacos? If the ujoint was damaged during the press work it would clunk too. Just something I know personally. I’m cool with you stopping by if ya need a second looker.

Yep 2 piece drive shaft. Carrier bearing is in the middle. Is it that easy to damage a u joint? I've never swapped them.

To help diagnose, put on stands and run vehicle, be unbelievable careful. A helper is helpful.

Did a shop do the work or you? If shop I’d call back and ask, duh. Yes and no. I’ve damaged them using a vice and socket and had to get them done as they were so stuck it took a press and an experienced guy. Also done them other times and was cake.

Got the sliders and frame plates burned in today courtesy of the one man workshop Chad (@BashFab on IG)

Couldn’t be happier with how they turned out. Probably going to clear coat the frame plates and rattle can the sliders this weekend.

Just needs skids and the 4x4 is trail ready!

The carrier bearing is pressed by the bolt that holds the yoke, went in ok, and no major issues with any of the ujoints i installed, and filled all ujoints with grease through the zerc fitting on all 3, everything still seems solid, so not sure if its pointing to another issue down the line, or if im just missing something

Not sure that would work, cause as i said, once its rolling it doesnt seem to be an issue, its onmy starting from a complete stop, im assuming it has something to do with the amount of torque, but i could be wrong, i dont claim to be a mechanic by any stretch of imagination lol

This^^^^ check your u bolts on your leaf springs and check for any abnormal wear on the ends of your leafs.
