Yep basikbiker is his name for the few who can still use Tw. That's who I am having build me a tundra rack for my taco...a little background about basic: Designed and built his 3.5 kit and later made a 4.5 J-arm kit as he has the Toyota Cad file to help design on. Also built his own linked arms and designed his rear completely on top of caging everything on his rig including an aluminum boxed in storage in his bed.

For a guy who just goes for it, its impressive how he has been so successful with designing stuff. One of the many reasons why I am going with him instead of solo as I will save about 1/3 of my funds by going through him.

I am still iffy on the tundra rack. My issue is I need more pressure so I'm looking a my a 1650 psi pump. Still not sure that a tundra rack can handle that pressure with 37s in the rocks.
However my buddy and I ended up figuring out a way to make a full hydro setup and are still currently testing it on his tacoma.

How much PSI does the stock pump run?

How is he liking full hydro so far? I’ve thought about that but it scares me a little to not have any sort of mechanical backup option.

1200 psi stock. And so far he loves it, a little squirmy on road but we are finding the proper alignment to fix that. Being able to run 8 psi in the front with the locker turned on and turn the wheel is amazing haha

Yeah that has got to be pretty nice.

Comparing the cost of full hydro to a hydro assisted rack and pinon like Fortin, Pro-Am, or Howe (Pretty sure Fortin racks are the cheapest of the bunch). I wonder how much more work and more expensive it would be to just go with a power steering rack like that with swingset steering hangers to tune out the bump steer.

I don't think there is enough room with out hug modifications for that style rack and pinion. Full hydro was a very tight fit with a 2.5 ram. But I do agree with the idea of mechanical steering being better. The whole set up for our full hydro was sub $1500.

Ahh you know what, we have totally different steering rack locations. A hydro assisted rack would be super tough to fit in the stock location. My 4runner has the rack behind the control arms/bulkhead, so I have much more room to make something work with a hydro assisted rack. Just so damn expensive, even with a Fortin rack.

That would make it much easier
