Congrats on the finish and podium on the first race! :beerscheers:
Pretty damn impressive. Stoked to see how much more you guys are going to be able to push things as you get more time behind the wheel and shocks tuned.
When are we going to see a video of the event?

Good job guys. Definitely got some work ahead of you to make it Koh ready. The steel city 4th gen has two years on it at Koh including a finish.

They say they have a finish but they didn't even get past chocolate thunder last year, they ended up timing out, the articles are misleading and leave it up to interpretation it seems. We definitely have a long way to go for KOH though. It's no small task to get a car prepped and ready for a race like that. Charles's car is very well built for sure, but being they only race KOH and the car is parked the rest of the year is kind of a bummer.

Hopefully this covid shit is behind us by Feb but I'm doubting it, which means Koh will be a hotspot and I'll be avoiding it.
Also awesome pictures by the way.

Yea itll be interesting to see if they even get the permits to host the event this year. Especially being located in California. If the Covid stuff is still in full swing I doubt we will even want to attend such a large event.
Congrats on the finish and podium on the first race! :beerscheers:

Yea we have some big fixes in the works to hopefully make a massive difference in performance. The video is coming! I have been swamped at work and we are moving to a new shop, plus I personally just moved so I have a lot of things on my plate keeping me from sitting a computer and making the video. But, itll come here in the next month or so!

Thanks, everyone! Lots of work to do still. The car is nowhere near its full potential, its really quite stock in the grand scheme of things, so we have a long way to go. Just shows how capable and durable of a platform this vehicle is, especially when it's not loaded down with a bunch boujee overland gear.

The fun continues for Sherpa Motorsports and 4628.

We are set up in a new shop and have 10 days to get the truck race ready again.

Main things on the to-do list are
- Rebuild Exhaust Sytem
- Rebuild Front Suspension
- Install Fuel Mat and new fuel pump
- New Limit Straps
- Fluid Change

Should be able to get everything done over the next 4-5 days and get out for some testing.

We also are installing some small but very helpful pieces like this Eimkieth Panhard Correction that will help with longevity and ride quality.

Cut out the front hoop on both sides to get it rebuild and then braced.

Some minor details like edge trim where we would hit getting in and out.

Lots to do in a short period of time, but we are ready for some late evenings at the shop!

Cranking away on the race truck. We only have the a few more days until the race and we are on schedule with prep which is really nice. Leaves us an evening of testing and a whole evening to make any needed changes.

Here is where we are at. We finished the whole front suspension minus a hyrdo bump that is getting a quick rebuild after we busted a shrader valve. The rear is all back together and tight with the new Eimkieth goodies installed. The fuelcell is remounted with a full tank strap which is awesome as well as all new goodies inside the tank. We did a Holley performance fuel mat and installed a new Bosch 044 pump which seems to be working really well for us. Hoping that fixes our pickup and vapor locking issues.

We also did some minor things like made some stronger mounts for the headlights, still not a final solution for the abuse this thing sees but we shall see how it holds up. Remounted our chase light, lost some hardware at the last race, deep clean and some misc parts here and there.

We also mounted another wheel and tire for a spare.

New shock hoop with internal gussets.

T handle on our filler cap so its not as hard to pull off.

Back on all 4.

Next big project is the exhaust which we plan to knock out today. Here is what we are dealing with.

Hopefully get it back to running strong with a muffler tonight!

More updates to come, as always there will be a video to accompany the work!

Looking awesome. Hopefully the fuel pump issues are taken care of with that new pump. I think that was the biggest issue you guys had on the last outing. I am sure you guys are going to place better this race. Have a safe race and keep her on all 4’s.

Happy to report that we had zero fuel issues this race. We did break other things however!
