I’ve had their lower links for over a year and it’s crazy how much better they flex than the stock ones. I just decided to do the uppers before I bend a link. I’d like to dial in the pinion angle too since they’re adjustable.

Is there a reason you guys are going with those vs the TC ones or the overland custom ones? Price point? They all basically do the same shit with drastically different price points.

Yeah price point and I wanted heimed on both sides. They’re cheaper than any of the competitors by quite a bit.

I picked up the uniball units today. I got the optional ARP bolts that bolt the LBJ to the spindle. There’s a 3d printed cap included for the top of the uniball to help keep water and debris out. Also an instruction sheet with torque specs for the 12pt bolt that holds the uniball to the tapered bolt which mounts to the LCA. Blue thread locker and a torque wrench is getting used on everything during install.

Turns out my JD Fab heimed steering bolt is a little too short and only half of the threads engage on the nut, so I’ll have to source a slightly longer one. Other than that, it’s just another part to check off the list before install day. Gotta do some axle reboots, spindle gussets, mount/ trim fiberglass front fenders,
coil swap and lower eyelet change on the Fox c/o’s and then I can think about setting aside a weekend to knock it out. All the parts are here so it’s just knocking out everything one by one. Onto the photos…

Tell me more about the heimed tie rod conversion it looks like you're adding into the mix on this.

LT kits usually use a threaded extension piece to lengthen the stock tie rods. The heimed steering is just an upgrade to help reduce bind and allow better articulation with the increased droop of LT lower arms.

These uniball LBJ’s can be bought to run stock tie rods or have the double shear tab welded on for those running heimed steering.

I finally got around to installing these with my long travel. Turns out the 3d printed cap contacts the axle dust seal at the hub, and the contact that’s pictured is only from turning the hub by hand while on jackstands. Anyone running 4wd axles will have to forego the uniball dust cap. I don’t think you could get away with trimming them down without cutting all the way through them.

Also, ignore the brake lines. I was given extended braided lines to install but they’re for the Tacoma that run banjo bolts, which I need to source before installing.

Yeah they look pretty tall. Wonder if you could machine some smaller profile ones rather than thick 3d plastic
