Die grinder with a carbide burr

As always, thanks! I'll give it a shot and go from there. I'll probably have to wait until COVID-19 blows over since I don't have easy access to an air compressor. I have to use one at a hobby shop on base (DOD Civ). Any recommendations on a die grinder?

I have some old Ingersoll Rand die grinders on the pneumatic side.
I have the angled and straight M18 Milwaukee now, so the air ones sit idle.

Only did stainless with TIG.
Pretty sure I have some rod laying around for the stick too.
When using either Mig or Tig gas coverage is very important as well as back purging.

Yeah I might need to buy a corded die grinder then. The welds were so bad. :puking:

The importance of a good ground can't be overstated, and now i know. Oddly enough the penetration doesn't look terrible when grinding down, but it looks like hammered dog shit.

I purposely did not post my last ally welds. Hammered dog shit would have been complimentary.

I was grounding through an epoxy coated tablesaw top because I left my ground on the table instead of putting on the aluminum. Oops. One thing I have noticed is ally like a really short path to ground.

Broke my Lincoln mp210 :/

wire came off the guide between the spool and the stinger. As I was pulling the jumbled mess of wire out to cut it and re feed it I broke the stud off the clamp that holds the wire in the guide. Vern Lewis said Lincoln doesn’t sell just the guide but they’ll try to find it in the warehouse otherwise it’ll be the guide, spool mount and the motor for the spool smh

A while back one of you guys mentioned welding with thinner wire for everything instead of 31 or higher and said that they learned that from the old guys. I should have screen shot it but I didn't.

Filler size is the same way with TIG. You can use .040 or 1/16" on thicker material but you have to feed it into the puddle like a mad man. Wonderful thing about MIG is that it feeds the wire for you.
