You need to see if the factory amp has a small sense wire coming from it. Then connect that wire to the sense wire on the harness. If it doesn't it's kicked on by the canbus and that should happen if it's the correct harness.

Reading through the reviews on Big A for the harness I found this. I'd call Metra directly. They're a pretty solid company and would have more info then me about the JBL amp turn-on function:
Forsure! I’ll go out there and look at it then call Metra if have any questions or anything. Thanks!

Garage is looking better. Toolbox actually has the organization. Welding/ compressor plugs installed. Lights are in, just waiting on bulbs. Garage is getting a little more organized and cleaned up. I’ll be getting two cabinets to replace the shelf next to the welder to help clean things up.

Spent a couple of weeks waiting on parts for my wife 06 Highlander hybrid. It started off just doing a standard timing belt change. Ended up replacing the front cover/ oil pump on the motor because the last person that had messed with it did a piss poor repair job on the threads for the tensioner shaft bolt. On top of the five hours it took to change the thermostat.

sometimes I build toys on my free time.

working on a 1:14 scale radio control telehandler. It's hydraulic lift/tilt/telescope. 4wd and 4ws. via electric motors. Made of steel and brass silver soldered together. Body is 3d printed since I'm lazy. cab design needs to be reworked to improve the realism.

Does the steering act like a real pettibone steering system? Front only(straight steer), round steer, and oblique steer?

thanks. keeps me out trouble and way cheaper than truck stuff

LOL. If I keep breaking my rig I'm either going to become an overlander or an RC truck guy. I haven't decided which is more evil yet. In reality though, every overlander I know has an RC truck in his rig, That way when they get to camp they can at least pretend to have done some wheeling.

I've been known to carry multiple RC trucks, so when one breaks I can play with the other one. :anon:

I've currently got 3 and only the 2wd one is in working condition. Haha.

Totally makes sense now.

Haha yeah. They're fun for the kids. 8/10 times I break them before Robbie can. One of them I actually carry around spare parts for. That's the one I really need to finish fixing because it's fun as fuck to jump off shit. It runs, I just need to rig something up to keep the esc and fan tied down.

Old lady’s Scion XB headlight has had condensation for a while from a fender bender and she came to me saying her blinker was flashing fast. I knew it must be a burned out bulb causing hyperflash, and go to change the bulb and am greeted with this

That’s about 12 oz of water sitting in there! Drilled a drain hole in the housing for now, and cleaned up the connectors with electrical contact cleaner and popped in a new bulb. It’ll get her by until we can install a new housing.
