He needs to charge. Better side gig than the usual millennial disposable income method :jerkoff:
I do charge. Just not nearly as much as a shop does. I like to help out buddies when I can but I need to be compensated for my time when I could be hanging out with my wife/kids, wheeling, or relaxing (or all three).

Some people get things done for cheaper depending on the situation (if you know what I mean :gossip::jerkoff:)

Like @theesotericone gave me a bunch of CV axles, and @Hank helped me cut apart my truck for 4-link.

Went and did Gold Mountain yesterday for the first time. It was a pretty good trail with good views of the Big Bear Valley, but it wasn’t all that difficult. There were the harder line options to make it more fun. I think our group had 7 rigs, which is pushing it forsure. I like 5 or less if possible. We had an old International Scout with us and he had way too much lift which put his front driveshaft at a really bad angle, especially for 1350 joints. Well he ended up breaking a driveshaft. Surprisingly the joints held up, but the welds on the yoke ripped off. So he had to do the rest of the trial in rwd locked, which is a bitch on the steeper loose stuff.
Then my brother was having issues in his XJ where anytime he would load the motor (climbing up a rock or ledge) the motor would die instantly, then have a little trouble starting right away. I’m thinking it’s something electrical and causing the ignition to not let it spark. It took us a while to really keep moving and finish the trail. After Gold Mtn, we were going to do Dishpan or John Bull but it was already 1:00pm and everyone was either over it or had to be home early, so my brother and I just ran around 3N16 and other easy trails for an hour or so and found some snow to play in. Overall it was a good trip but man it took way too long to get moving at a decent pace.
Last Sunday while @theesotericone and I were wheeling in Calico, we did Doran, Vodka Blueberry, Sushi Burrito, Bismarck’s Mullet, Bismarck’s Hairpiece and back down Doran in like 3 hours. That’s the kind of pace I really enjoy, and makes it really hard to wheel in groups besides our core guys here. Me, Kyle and Andy did Odessa and Doran in 1:15 that Saturday night. I’m getting too used to our fast pace to go with anyone else now haha

Sounds like the snow is clearing pretty quickly on the trails. Hopefully get my rig wrapped up by early May so we can start heading up.

Yeah the trails are pretty clear of snow, just gotta find the right trails on the north face of the mountains to find snow. Pretty much everywhere else is clear.

@AssBurns ICYMI this is @4runner DOA ’s way of saying he needs help with getting shit welded on
:rofl::peep:
He's aware. We'll do it when he has time and I have the rest of the parts needed.
I'm not going to weld shit until you get the right parts. :flipoff:
Call Currie and switch out two of the joints with LH thread, them buy 4 jam nuts and 4 bungs. It should only take a few hours to build the links, then we can even go wheeling after.

Anyone ever gone up from Jawbone Canyon to Lake Isabella before? I saw that trail a couple years ago and always though it would be a neat weekend camping trip. The road/trail is only about 50 miles long. Could be cool to do an overnighter before it gets too hot. Maybe May or something?

Yep. It's all fire road. There's some camping along the way. We found a couple jeep trails, which happened to be the first time I ripped a trim piece off. It's a really scenic drive. I've been wanting to do it again since there's a lot of mines and side roads all over.

Yeah it sounds like a good mild trip, and find a spot to camp at Lake Isabella or the Kern River after a day of wheeling. Let’s try to plan something.
Run 6 trails. If only. I was just happy we went spectating that day and it kept me from breaking at least until the rest of my group got there.
Yeah those trails aren’t something to take lightly haha
