Because race truck. Let me select a gear and hold it. Also ordered a bead roller to make a fancy center console. Guess we will see how this goes lol

That's rad! Literally (RADesigns). I must have not payed much attention in the earlier parts of the build thread. What trans are you running that's a 3 speed? TH400?

Still stock transmission a340e. I’ll go to an aw4 at some point with an atlas. Both still 4 speeds. The way I understand it, 3 to the right is overdrive and shifts like normal. 3 left is 3rd. Then 2nd. Then 1st. I won’t know till I try but that’s what others have said.

Finally put together my press so I can bend the diff armor and some other stuff. Put small castors on it to help move it around and I’ll put some adjustable feet to help keep it in place when I find a good spot for it.
It needs some small things like a place to hold the bar and a quick release knob but itll work till I decide what hydraulic press I want to get.

Shock towered were initially cut with a plasma table my dad has. Along with all the other parts lol. I don’t have my own plasma yet so then everything is cut to length with a cut off wheel which blows... debating on getting a cheap amazon or Eastwood plasma till I can afford a hypertherm

I have a hypertherm powermax 30air , my first plasma so I don't have much of an opinion on anything else. I also have a harbor freight portable bandsaw that I've used to cut with and it works like a charm.

My dad has a hypertherm 45 he uses for his cnc table and it’s nice I just can’t justify the cost right now. I also found an everlast supercut 51p for 600 bucks. I’ll probably end up with that since it has a 3 year warranty and decent reviews. Thanks though.

I also have a big floor band saw I use all the time. There’s just some things a plasma can do that other things can’t.

I've heard good things about everlast stuff, and 3 year warranty isn't bad either. Sounds like a good deal to me

It's funny, over the years I've collected a stick welder, a mig box, and a fuckin TIG box. A plasma would complete the collection.

And ya know what?
They all sit in storage because I don't have the power to run them.

I just put 220 in my garage. It was a huge pain. Panel was on the opposite of the house and had to run 4awg wire 120ft through the attic in conduit... needless to say I put in a 70amp sub panel and 2 220 plugs just to be sure I don’t have to go back in the attic for a while.

We're looking at a place to rent for the next (probably) 2 years this week. It has a double garage, I'm hoping like hell if we sign a lease I can convince the prick to let me put a subpanel in for a welding setup.
I'll pay for it to go into someone else's place at this point, I'm sick of driving 20 miles to buddy's place to do any fucking work. My projects move at a crawl because I can't work on them at home.

If was in the same boat. Unfortunately I have a flat roof house and the conduit would look like shit running up and over the house. Instead I switched out the 4 plug to a 3 plug o the dryer and got a 25ft extension cord. Works like a charm.
I've said it before but it needs saying. Great build man.

My dryer is gas so that wasn’t an option for me. I saved a ton of money running the wires and conduit myself but it was still a huge pain. But did show that the attic had no insulation basically and sprayed some more at the same time haha.

Appreciate the kind words haha. Nothing special here. Kind of making shit up as I go and hoping it works out in the end lol. Now if only it would cool off I could actually get back in the garage and finish this thing.

My dryer is also gas and that's why I had a 220 outlet just sitting there waiting to be used. Hot? Tell me about it it hit 105 here two days ago.

Supposed to be 85 here. I'm already sweating my balls off trying to get the rear put back together before the Marine layer burns off.
